David Rosenmeyer, Carnegie Hall

David Rosenmeyer is an Argentinian music director and composer based in New York City. In his fourteenth season as Music Director of the Fairfield County Chorale, he has led performances of major works including Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Verdi’s Requiem, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in collaboration with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. His work with the Chorale also includes performances that highlight operatic repertoire and artists, most recently an opera gala featuring soprano Kathryn Lewek.

An active orchestra conductor of both symphonic and operatic repertoire, Mr. Rosenmeyer has conducted orchestras throughout Latin America, including the National Symphonic Orchestra of his native Argentina, the Symphonic Orchestra of Concepción in Chile, and the Bellas Artes Orchestra in Mexico, as well as the Israeli Chamber Orchestra in Jaffa. He served as Music Director for the Salzburg Marionette Theatre’s acclaimed production of The Sound of Music, and recently led a new production of Menotti’s The Medium for Fort Worth Opera and Piazzolla’s María de Buenos Aires for Bare Opera in New York City.

Now in his twenty first season as Associate Conductor of the Oratorio Society of New York, Mr. Rosenmeyer has led numerous performances at Carnegie Hall, including Britten’s War Requiem, Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Stravinsky’s Mass, and Te Deum, the latter marking his Carnegie Hall debut. Most recently, he conducted the Oratorio Society in Carmina Burana at Carnegie Hall and has led the ensemble on international tours to Hungary, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Uruguay, and Japan.
